The patented Dry & Store conditioning system was first introduced in 1997. That premier model, designed for in-home use and ease-of-use is now called Dry & Store Professional. In 2002, Dry & Store Global was launched in response to requests for a more portable model, one that is easily adaptable for international use, and that would accommodate all types of cochlear implant equipment. The Global model has been replaced by the Global II model (January 2010), featuring a more modern, streamlined design and some engineering changes for better longevity. Functionally, the Global II operates the same manner and has the same drying and sanitizing benefits as the original Global model. The third drying product, introduced April 2008, is called Zephyr by Dry & Store. Like its larger siblings, Zephyr is fully automatic and utilizes the same drying technology that has earned Dry & Store its position as the worldwide leader in hearing instrument care.
All three appliances incorporate Dry & Store's renowned drying technology – warm moving air and a desiccant. The Professional and Global models are the only drying appliances on the market that also provide a sanitizing benefit. (Click here for more information about the germ-killing benefit of Dry & Store Global and Professional.)
While the Zephyr does not include the germicidal cycle that its larger siblings share, Zephyr does have the same renowned drying and deodorizing benefit. So even though it's a smaller package with a lower price, it still packs a punch…clearly not just another box of hot air!
Dry-Brik II: The same Dry-Brik® desiccant works with all of our drying appliances – Dry & Store Professional, Dry & Store Global, and Zephyr. It is an essential part of the system, responsible for capturing both moisture and odor.
Each model has distinct advantages for different lifestyles, physical abilities, and preferences. Following are details of each product.
